About ParentPlay
ParentPlay is designed to help parents and carers find suitable activities, places and ideas for their children. We aim to use only the information needed to provide these features.
Child profiles
You can create child profiles containing information such as a name or nickname, age, avatar and interests. These profiles are stored locally on your device and are used to personalise activity suggestions and age filtering.
ParentPlay does not send your child profile information with your location when requesting weather or nearby place information.
Location
With your permission, ParentPlay uses your device location to provide local weather information and help find relevant activities and places nearby.
Location access is optional. You can deny or change location permission through your device settings. Some weather and nearby-place features may not work without location access.
Online services
To provide weather, nearby-place and venue information, ParentPlay communicates with third-party online services. Information needed to provide the feature you request may be sent to these services, including location coordinates or location-based search information.
ParentPlay currently uses Open-Meteo for weather information, OpenStreetMap-based services including Nominatim and Overpass for place information, and Google Places functionality for venue information and photos.
These third-party services may also process technical information associated with requests, such as IP addresses, device or request information, in accordance with their own privacy policies and service terms.
ParentPlay does not include information from your child profiles with these requests.
Favourites and preferences
Favourites and certain app preferences are stored locally on your device so ParentPlay can remember your choices.
External links
ParentPlay may allow you to open third-party websites, map services or search results. When you choose to open an external service, that service may process information under its own privacy policy.
Advertising and analytics
The current version of ParentPlay does not use advertising, advertising identifiers or analytics tracking. If this changes in a future version, this privacy policy will be updated as appropriate.
Data retention and deletion
Child profiles, favourites and locally stored preferences remain on your device until you change or remove them, clear the app data, or uninstall ParentPlay.
Information processed by external services may be subject to the retention practices of those service providers.
Security
We take reasonable steps to minimise the personal information used by ParentPlay and to limit access to information needed for app functionality. No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
ParentPlay is intended for use by parents and carers. It is not designed for children to create accounts or independently provide personal information to ParentPlay.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy when ParentPlay features, services or legal requirements change. The latest version will show its updated date.
